  • Botox® is an FDA approved treatment made of a highly-purified form of botulinum toxin that temporarily paralyzes facial muscles that cause wrinkles. Botox takes just a few minutes to treat the lines and wrinkles around your eyes and forehead, so these signs of aging become less visible. Dr. Rodgers also offers Xeomin®, an FDA-approved treatment that weakens the muscles that, with repetitive contractions, contributes to wrinkles.

At the office of Rand Rodgers, MD, you can get Botox and Xeomin injected into the lines and wrinkles on your forehead and the crow’s feet around your eyes so the muscles can’t contract as much. You’ll still be able to make natural facial expressions, and you’ll look like yourself, but you’ll have fewer visible lines and wrinkles.

  • After treatment, you may notice a difference in the first 24-48 hours, and the appearance of lines and wrinkles continues to improve over the next few days. Results can last up to four months for moderate to severe frown lines.

  • Dermal fillers work differently than Botox in that they plump your skin, add volume, and smooth out lines and wrinkles with an injectable gel, rather than temporarily paralyzing facial muscles. Many fillers contain hyaluronic acid — a substance your body produces naturally when you’re younger — but as you age, that production diminishes. The result is sometimes a noticeable volume loss in your facial features. Rand Rodgers, MD, offers Restylane®, Restylane Lift ®, Juvederm®, Juvederm Ultra®, and Radiesse®.

  • Different dermal fillers work to:

    • Sunken areas -- the tear trough -- in the lower eyelids

    • Soften lines and wrinkles on your face

    • Add volume to your lips

    • Add volume to your cheeks

    • Reduce the appearance of smile lines

Depending on the type of filler you receive, and if you have moderate or severe lines and wrinkles, the effects of dermal fillers can last a few months or a few years. You can discuss with Dr. Rodgers which dermal filler best suits your cosmetic needs.

Rand Rodgers, MD, also offers eyelid fillers that restore lost volume in your eyelids. These are usually made of natural substances, such as hyaluronic acid or calcium hydroxyapatite. Eyelid fillers are an anti-aging treatment option that makes them appear smoother, tighter, and younger-looking. Dr. Rodgers might combine eyelid fillers with Botox or laser resurfacing to optimize your results.
